 Vernon Parish, LA

Vernon Parish Community Orchestra

The Vernon Parish Community Orchestra provides opportunities for music education!

The orchestra, conducted by Dr. Karen Gordy, addresses all facets of musical performance, ranging from advanced music reading skills to concert protocol to musical theory and appreciation.

Live performances in Leesville, DeRidder, and Jasper, reflect a wide variety of music genres including baroque, classical, romantic, popular, and light classics. Admission to their performances is free, but donations are always appreciated and are used to promote music throughout the parish.

Plans for the future include expansion of the Performing Youth Orchestra by getting more school children involved. For more information, contact Dr. Karen Gordy at (337) 239-7700 or kgandbg@cebridge.net or view their website at www.vpco.net.
